Keep it real...
I will admit, I started my legal blog as an addition to my firm's website. Call it what it is, it's just another way to promote yourself. I'm not new to blogging, I have had a private journal for sometime that I intend to keep private. Getting a blog started is more than just having something to say, it is about having something to say that people need to know, or care about reading.
I have looked at blogs by my colleagues. I feel the compelling urge to write posts like they do, and to turn my blog into some form of professional information dump on current issues and hot legal topics. But, guess what? I know the average person really has no interest in listening to a lot of hot air from a lawyer. If a reader wants to spend time reading about the topic of law, odds are they are a lawyer already. If a reader needs information about how a law applies to them. The need clear, logical and to-the-point answers.
So, rather than try to sound like yet another pompous windbag out there trying to dazzle my readers with my brilliance, I think I will keep writing in the tone and style of a regular person, and touch on the issues I get asked about most in my practice.
This is me
There is only one picture of me on the main site so far. I need to have some professional pictures taken for that. But, in the meantime, here is a recent casual picture of me.
Welcome to my blog
I have maintained a private journal for sometime, but at the urging of friends and associates, I am starting a law based blog as an extra to my firm's website. I hope you find the additional content here helpful to you. If you haven't visited the main site, please do. It is at http://www.shtexaslawyer.com/.
